About Shashi:

A London based Forró addict since 2013, Shashi developed his Forró through extensive travels to more than 75 festivals as well as time spent living in Brazil. He has taught workshops and DJed throughout the world, including cities in the UK, Germany, France and Russia. He founded a project called Forró Lab in 2019, teaching weekly classes in London as well as hosting special events including guest teachers such as Hugo Silva and Camila Alves. Shashi views dancing as a form of expression, freedom and connection – with the view that one dances for their partner, the music and themselves. He aims to help people to find more expression in dance by drawing on their personality and creativity, as well as imparting best practice technique and understanding. Aside from learning both the Universitario and Roots styles of Forró, Shashi is also a Tango enthusiast and draws upon all of his dance influences to build on his teaching methods.
